Keeping with the element of surprise that exists at the core of Nars, François Nars has officially tapped British actress Tilda Swinton as the face of the Spring 2015 campaign. With a fine lineup preceding the silver screen star, including Daphne Guinness and Charlotte Rampling, the brand has fallen for her audacious style and compelling work in the arts. She’s recently starred in We Need to Talk About Kevin and The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Nars commented that he chose her because of the bold roles she takes on.

“I love Tilda’s bold style and really admire her work. As an actress, she brings such strong personality to the camera. And as a woman, she lives the experience of transformation and expression. She was the perfect choice for Nars,” he explained.

The feeling is clearly mutual, as Swinton recently worked with Nars on a photo shoot for his upcoming book. The actress commented, “I liked him immensely and immediately and we were eager to do more things together. Now I understand why his work is so fresh and original, because he is so bright and he has such a sweet heart.”

The campaign will include four different collections—each shot by the makeup artist himself—with the ads running from January through to April. If having Ms. Swinton as the face of the campaign is any indicator, we’ll likely be seeing an array of strong, bold looks in the collection. Be still, our hearts.
