Since makeup artist Peter Philips‘s departure from his five-year stay as creative director of makeup at Chanel in 2013 (he’s since moved to Dior), make-up artist Tom Pecheux has been the man behind the looks on the runway…until now. The design house has just announced Lucia Pica as its new global creative makeup and colour designer, which has often been described as the most coveted job in cosmetics.

Pica has been working as a freelance makeup artist, creating looks for the likes of Roksanda Ilincic and House of Holland (pictured above), as well as doing makeup for various cover shoots. Starting in January 2015, she will be designing new Chanel make-up collections as well as crafting the beauty looks at the ready-to-wear, couture and Metiers D’Art shows.

We can’t wait to see what this new era at Chanel will bring.
