L’Oreal Paris’ Fibralogy line provides the boost that fine hair craves, thanks to a genius ingredient

L’Oreal Paris has released a hair booster that couldn’t come at a better time, given that we’re deep into hat hair season. If your strands are looking limp and more off-duty model than you’d like, your prayers are about to be answered.
L’Oreal Paris’ Fibralogy line features a follicle-plumping molecule called Filloxane that’s been borrowed from the glass-repair industry. It works like silica gel, the stuff that’s used to fix cracked car windshields (!), moving into strands as a liquid and then converting into a solid state, “which expands the diameter of the hair,” explains Elisabeth Bouhadana, global scientific director for L’Oreal Paris International.
The line features four products: a shampoo, conditioner, thickening booster and hair mask. While Fibralogy is aimed at helping the limp-haired, Bouhadana sees a bright future for the star ingredient. For starters, Filloxane could be a vehicle for delivering anti-aging ingredients deep into the skin. Talk about working double-duty.
