Jessica Chastain wore the most epic braid to the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards

If a mullet is business in the front and party in the back, then Jessica Chastain‘s braid at last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards was more like business in the front, massive rager in the back. Just when we thought we had seen every type of braid possible, the actress brought her plait A-game and showed us something totally new and interesting. It may be too early to predict, but we’re calling it as the best braid of Awards Season 2015 (sorry, Leto).

From the front, Chastain looked like she was sporting a simple, sleek ponytail with no part. But from the back, her hair was pulled into a half-pony, knotted at the base of said pony, then a small strand of hair was gathered from each side about halfway down her hair (just below her ears) and knotted to hold the entire style into place, and then the entire thing was very loosely braided just a couple of times, with the bottom few inches were left straight.

The end result is an insanely cool look that is actually super simple to do (less simple to explain, though). This is the stuff that Pinterest dreams are made of.
