My go-to holiday look always involves red lips. They have such a festive look and they can dress up a comfortable look for a family gathering. Polished brows, highlighted cheeks and a ‘60s inspired black liner complete the look. I’m holiday ready no matter what with this simple 5-minute face. For this look I went with a sleek ponytail because there is nothing more annoying than limp hair by the end of a long evening.
To prep my pout for the perfect lip, I exfoliate first with a lip scrub. Removing dry skin is key to a smooth application. After applying my lipstick, I like to run a thin brush around my lip line.

When it comes to the holidays, one thing comes to mind. Glitter!

Although there are a lot of holiday-party staple looks, I always gravitate back to the tried and true: glittery smoky eye and a nude lip. The thing about this time of the year is that glitter is abundant. Look at any holiday set and more than likely, there’s at least one shade in there that shimmers and shines.

For this look I chose to use Too Faced’s holiday set, Le Grande Palais, which has 18 eyeshadows in it, the majority of which are glitters. I kept with smoky with a baroque shade in the crease and a light blue towards the inner corner of the eye. I went with a dark liquid eyeliner for my cat eye and then major false lashes to up the volume. I finished off the face with some contouring to carve out the cheekbones and a nude lip to seal the deal.

Shine on!

Hello, winter! Once again, it’s that time of year to sip on peppermint hot chocolate, break out those cozy sweaters, and my personal favourite…attend holiday parties. Everyone loves a good reason to get all dolled up and this is the perfect excuse to do so. So break out the ‘fancy’ and get into the holiday spirit!

Here are a few things I like to do for my go-to holiday party look. A little hair bling is always a quick and fun way to look extra festive, as are classic red nails. I find it fitting to incorporate shimmer and shine into your look around this time of year, so I went with that theme here on my eyes. I found a great product from Sephora that helps create a more dramatic finish for your loose powder shadows. It is a liquid that you mix straight with your pigments, transforming it into a super concentrated layer that stays put all night. I added in a little cut crease, a winged black liner, and finished off with delicate individual lashes. I always have a battle on whether or not I should wear red lipstick, especially around the holiday season (I swear I could wear red lipstick every day for the rest of my life). But for this look, I decided to let the eyes do the talking and went with a much softer shade on the lips.

I’ve been more experimental with lip colours this year and have sought out to discover the new fave – liquid lipstick. I 100% wouldn’t wear any other type of lipstick for the holidays because, face it, holidays means a lot of food, drinking and lipstick smearing if you aren’t careful. A liquid lipstick will last, and with a colour like Stila’s Baci, I can feel confident because it isn’t a standout colour. It is a mauve nude and perfect for days you don’t want to worry about touching up a bright red lipstick.

For the rest of my makeup, I just went with a simple full-coverage look. I’ve been obsessed with my Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Palette lately, so I did a simple matte look on the eyes with a hint of shimmer over top of the crease. A strong winged liner and perfected brows completes the look.

For me, the holidays are about red lips. I will build my full look around my lips. For skin – luminous is the way to go. I mixed M.A.C lustre drops with Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in “Chestnut” and added extra foundation without the lustre drops under my eyes. This is most natural foundation that I own. For the brows, I used Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel in “Brown/Black.” On the eyes, I used Sleek 24 Karat Gold Collection The Gold Standard I-Lust eyeshadow palette where I brushed gold on the lids and eggplant in the crease. I finished off with black liquid liner. Lastly, Rouge Edition Velvet by Bourjois on the lips. It’s a soft, velvet matte texture.

I love the holidays. It is one of my favourite times of the year. There are tons of activities around the city and lots of weekend holiday parties. With this being such a busy time of year, sometimes I don’t have much time to get myself ready. My go-to look is wavy hair, winged eyeliner and red lips. It is a simple and classic look that compliments almost any outfit or occasions this time of year.
