With futurism all the rage in fashion this season, you’d expect cybershine lips to be the buzz of the beauty world. But instead they were more like your mother’s old standbys—that is, if your mother shacked up in Palm Beach. Saturated pinks and corals as well as candy-apple reds did all the talking this season, making their quiet backdrop of bare matte faces the perfect silent partner. When selecting a vibrant shade of pink, choose one closest to your own lip tone, and “apply it to the entire lip with a flat lip brush,” says Pat McGrath, runway makeup artist and global cosmetics creative design director for P&G Beauty. Finish by blotting the colour with your fingers.
