Lancôme model Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann advocates carbon-free cosmetics.

The model, who studied environmental science, lobbied the company to sponsor her and fellow spokesmodels Shalom Harlow, Daria Werbowy, Inès Sastre and Selena Breed’s participation in the CarbonFree initiative from carbonfund.org.
That means Lancôme offsets the environmental impact of the models’ work-related travel by reducing carbon emissions in other areas—specifically, by creating an on-line (a.k.a. paper-free) press office, transforming four boutiques according to CarbonFree principles, and planting one tree for each of the first 10,000 bottles of Lancôme Primordiale Cell Defense Double Performance Cell Defense & Skin Perfecting Serum ($70, at department stores). “It’s not a solution,” she says, “but hopefully it will raise awareness of the problem.”
