On the loose

Pretty mica powders do shimmery double duty.

We beauty editors consider ourselves pretty tough chicks, but when it comes to our skin, we admit to being sensitive, which is why we’re brushing on Micabella Cosmetics’ Shimmer Powder ($15, at select Bay stores). Made from pure, 100% natural mica, the loose powder is free of preservatives, chemicals and dyes, so it won’t irritate our sensitive skin or contact lenses. Shimmer Powder comes in a whopping 80 shades ranging from shimmery white “Desert Frost” to pitch black matte “Ebony.” We love how it gives us more bang for our buck, since it does double duty brushed on as eyeshadow or as an eyeliner, when applied with a damp angled brush. Bonus: the neutral shades can even be used as blush or topped with gloss on lips. Our picks? “Striptease,” a peachy gold, is perfect for highlighting this season’s sun-kissed skin, while “Ultraviolet” is on-trend for fall, where purple shadow stormed the runways at Behnaz Sarafpour and Bottega Veneta.

Shown: Micabella Shimmer Powder in (from top) “Freeze,” “Rendezvous” and “Tease.”

I just brought Micabella eyeshadow on my birthday 10/29/08 and I love it!! I have received so many compliments about my make-up because of the shimmery look that it . Plus I like the fact that you can use it in multiple ways. I can't wait to buy more colors.

I just bought the base/blush and 3 eye shadows in Atlanta Georgia at one of the kiosks in the Atlanta Mall the Day after Thanks Giving, And I was just going to get 1 eye shadow, but both the gentleman and the gorgeous skinned lady that helped me had me head over heels in love with all of the products, I tried so much of it there and I use Bare Minerals and we literally compared the qualityof both brands in the mall in front of everyone and I was sold, The fact that i was wearing a black velvet shirt and when she hugged me and nothing from her face rubbed off sold me right away, let me tell you ladies this stuff is amazing and its so light weight and feels so velvety on your skin you'll want all of it!

I just purchased some micabella at a Kiosk. I use bare minerals. The micabella eyeshadows are much better. I have had more compliments with the colors and it works fantastic as an eyeliner. The price and quantity is a great deal. I paid for 3 and received 2 for free. The sales staff was fantastic she combined so many colors on my hand so quickly is was really hard to choose.

I recently bought a total of 10 eyeshadows from Mica Bella cosmetics, and cant believe how long they stay! That is my biggest problem! I work long hours, and as much as they recommend mac makeup, i dont because of all the nasty chemicals. I love the shades, how some are very light, natural, and some are very vibrant and happy. Im 18, so going to the club is a regular. LOL, and it stayed on! no smudges, no reapplication. YAY!
