Beauty to go
FASHION's beauty director dishes on her eight travel must-haves.

Less in infinitely more, particularly when you travel as much as I do. (My hot pink Lug bag a permanent fixture on my arm.) But I’ve seen London, I’ve seen France, so I’m not complaining. Rather, I’m bragging. After much trial and error, and many confiscated cosmetics, I’ve narrowed down my must-travel-with-at-all-times beauty items to the best of the best—all under 100 ml, fitting neatly into the requisite plastic bag. Here are the eight beauty products that I take with me everywhere:
Skin
Infused with plant-based extract kinetin, the travel-sized Kinerase Anti-Wrinkle Care ($120) and Lotion (shown, $90, both at Shoppers Drug Mart) keep my skin soft and fine-line free, even if I’m dehydrated from flying.
Face
Dermalogica Concealing Spot Treatment ($40, dermalogica.com) is slightly tinted, so has great T-zone coverage. Plus, because it’s an intense spot treatment with concentrated sulfur that quickly dries breakouts, I never have to worry about pimples.
Hair
Good Hair Dayz pillowcase ($35, goodhairdayz.com) in “Ava’s Ivory” keeps my hair looking amazing, not damaged and broken. Unlike hotel cotton, the charmeuse satin pillowcase lets my hair, and skin, slip and slide while I toss and turn, eliminating friction and scary bead head.
Makeup
Rimmel Extra Super Lash mascara ($5, at Shoppers Drug Mart) in “Black,” goes on wet regardless of altitude or where I land.
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner (shown, $20) in “Birthday Suit” and Face Powder blush (next slide, $35, both at sephora.com) in “Thrrrob,” are ridiculously convenient to use: the eyeshadow is applied with fingertips and the blush comes with its own full-sized brush right in the packaging.
Chanel Aqualumière lipstick ($31, at Holt Renfrew) in “Montego” is so moisturizing with just a hint of semi-sheer colour. I wear it with everything.
