Edmonton Notes: House of Virtue

Vintage wear gets a facelift with help from this shop’s designers.

There’s nothing better than vintage finds in mint condition, but more often than not, the years take their toll on clothing. Three grads from the University of Alberta’s human ecology program set out to rectify that problem, and House of Virtue was born. By taking the best parts of vintage, like animal prints or retro patterns, and adding new materials, they give funky tops and vests (shown, from $75), jackets and sweaters something old and something new. At Divine (10441 82 Ave., 780-439-2977).
