Scents of the Season

Our five standout summer fragrances, one for each mood.

Your inspiration: the words of American poet Amy Lowell, who wrote about flowers and their “scent-brimmed cup / full of summer’s fragrance to the summer sun.”

Clarins Sunshine Fragrance
($49, at Clarins)

Billing itself as a “treatment fragrance,” this refreshing eau de soin promises to enhance well-being as well as scent. The non-fragrant plant extracts include Griffonia seeds (referenced here as a “precursor to serotonin”) and vitamin-rich watermelon. The scent itself is a citrusy blend of grapefruit, Sicilian mandarin and ylang-ylang.
