Independent Spirit

Our guide to 12 of the latest and greatest indie beauty brands.

Any beauty junkie worth her faux-glow salt knows a good thing when she sees one. And that’s part and parcel of most independent beauty labels: They look good. But sexy packaging aside, it’s also our natural curiosity for what’s next, and the need to stay ahead of the beauty curve—something we beauty junkies have in common with indie beauty creators—that keeps us on the lookout for the next big thing. Of course, what’s inside is just as important as what’s outside. Trend-setting colours and formulations are only the beginning. More than a few brands have an organic or all-natural approach to their products, taking the “less is more” mantra to a new chemical-free level.
