Does softening lines in one teeny little step sound too good to be true? Think again, mon amie. Beauty fanatics the world over scrape away those annoying little expired skin cells, which cling to lines, making them look like the San Andreas Fault, by exfoliating.
"Regular deep exfoliation can also stimulate collagen production to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, while milder exfoliation keeps the skin clean, helps remove blackheads and can help prevent acne," says Toronto dermatologist Dr. Paul Cohen. For dehydrated, acne-prone, maturing or dull skin, there's a scrub out there with your name on it. Just make sure "it is not too irritating - mild redness that is transient should result. If you are red for a long time, it's too strong," says the good doctor.
