Despite the melting pot of inspirations that cued fall’s supersonic eyes, the only idea you’ll want to note is that “they can take the most demure person and make her feel like a fly-by-night sexpot,” says Melissa Gibson, a senior artist with M.A.C. “It’s like wearing a piece of fantastic jewellery.” And since we’re chatting accessories, why not select shades like emerald greens or sapphire blues, which are anything but just semi-precious. Whether you use them in combination or alone, “this is a two-colour process–a darker shade and a mid-tone,” says Gibson. “Concentrate the dark hue closer to the lashline, then blend it out softly.” Use the mid-tone for under the eye or in the corner. “This approach makes it much easier to wear.”
