Runway report: Makeup
Our take on the top makeup that dominated the Fall 2008 runways in Milan, Paris and New York.{FALL BEAUTY GUIDE}

Culture-crazed designers referenced the arts all over their Fall 2008 runway collections—from Spanish cubist Pablo Picasso and Viennese muralist Gustav Klimt to films noir like Les Diaboliques and fairy-tale illustrators Arthur Rackham and Gustaf Tenggren. So it makes sense that makeup artists at Alexander McQueen, Prada and 3.1 Phillip Lim painted runway models into real-life canvases framed by distinct, darkened eyebrows. Editorial makeup artist extraordinaire, Greg Wencel, defined the heavy-handed brows that dominated runways as “a bit of masculine appeal” and “handsome.” Indeed. Think picture-perfect when drawing yours on—they’re the only accessory your face will need.
