Parc Avenue

Parc Avenue by Plants and Animals
These Montreal lads have been causing quite a bit of indie tongue-wagging since they signed to Secret City Records, the home of Polaris Prize-winner Patrick Watson.
Their album–essentially sunny bluegrass-meets-seventies guitar riffs with a splash of Neil Young and Radiohead thrown in for good measure–is really a love letter to Montreal. It makes perfect sense that their layered, almost un-peggable sound–is it Queen? Is it Simon & Garfunkel? –is named after Montreal’s Parc Avenue, a street that was never accused of being homogenous. Is that Polaris Prize #2 in Secret City’s future...?
