It’s here! The streets of Toronto will be taken over on Saturday night for the city’s annual all-night art party. Given just how much there is to see during the 12+ hours of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, we’re dedicating the entire Weekend To-Do to the most stylish exhibits and goings-on—from the festival’s kick off at 7:03pm and well into sunrise. On our list? A photo exhibit at the Philip Sparks boutique, an all night-dance party and a fancy mug of hot chocolate. (With some great art and live music thrown into the mix!)

The Weekend To-Do: We’re hitting Pop Montreal, meeting Rachel Roy in Vancouver and shopping the Dundas West Sidewalk Sale in Toronto
Fall is in full swing here at FASHION and although the abrupt temperature drop was quite harsh there’s not much to do but embrace this glorious autumn weather. Tomorrow’s Dundas West Sidewalk Sale is the perfect opportunity to don that favourite knit of yours you’ve been itching to throw on all summer. For those of us who weren’t able to score tickets to the sold-out Grimes shows, it’s not the end of the world (we’d like to think). A generous amount of live music will be in store this weekend at POP Montreal and Vancouver’s Olio Festival.
The Weekend To-Do: We’re soaking up The xx’s latest album, Moon’s pop-up sale and Western Canada Fashion Week
The final days of summer are fast approaching, and as much as we’re looking forward to breaking out the Oxblood skinnies and fur gloves, that feeling won’t last come January (winter blues anyone?). Take advantage of the final few outdoor happenings going on from food festivals in Vancouver to Toronto’s Queen West Art Crawl. Looking to relax this weekend? The xx’s latest album dropped earlier this week.

Inside The Coveteur and J Brand’s party at Holt Renfrew: Pretty photos, motorcycle jackets, denim-clad partygoers and more!
Our favourite fashion voyeurs are at it again. Last night Toronto’s most discernibly trendy gathered at Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street location for private viewing of The Coveteur’s photo exhibition (which we exclusively previewed) in collaboration with J Brand jeans. The show, which runs until September 17 at Holt Renfrew features intimate snapshots that take us inside the drool-worthy closets of DJ Daisy O’Dell, costume designer Erin Benach (recently in Toronto in conjunction with her work on the new Ryan Gosling flick A Place Beyond The Pines), actress Mickey Sumner (she may just be the daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler) and celebrity stylist Karla Welch. The exhibit also celebrates J Brand’s latest ready-to-wear collection.

Just as Prince Harry’s nude photo ordeal is simmering down, the Royal Family is faced with yet another scandal. The victim this time around? None other than the cherubic Kate Middleton.
French tabloid magazine, Closer published a series of photos today of the Duchess of Cambridge and husband, Prince William while on a mini-vacation at a private chateau in the south of France. The various shots depict Kate Middleton sunbathing topless on a balcony, evidently shot with a long-focus lens. “Harry started the fashion: these days the Windsors take their clothes off,” the magazine remarked alongside the published images.
According to the BBC, Prince William and Kate are furious. A statement released by The St. James Palace earlier today described the invasion of privacy as “grotesque” and “totally unjustifiable” and within hours, it was announced that the Royal Family had filed a lawsuit, alleging violation of privacy.
“Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner. The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so.”
The royal couple is currently on a tour of Southeast Asia scheduled to come to an end this weekend. With a legal suit already in the works, we hope the duo’s visit resumes without incident.
