Walk this way

Comments

With Earth Day right around the corner, plan on strapping on your gladiator sandals to support a good cause: clean water.

The third annual I Walk For Water (iwalkforwater.ca)a charitable initiative promoting awareness about and support for the women living in Africa without easy access to clean water–takes place on Earth Day, April 22, 2009. Trekking troupes across Canada–along with Margaret Trudeau and event partners Aveda and WaterCan–will be walking the five kilometers in hopes of raising $250,000 for clean water projects in Africa. (Consider that the average African woman walks six every day just for sanitary water.)

When you consider all of the water we take for granted while washing our hair, soaking our hands and feet for our mani/pedis (not to mention drinking it), it feels good to walk the beauty-talk.
