With just over a year under my Miu Miu belt covering parties for fashionmagazine.com, this fashionable girl was thrilled to accompany editor-in-chief Ceri Marsh to the Design Exchange Black & White gala (possibly our swankiest outing yet!) honouring Canadian designer mavericks, Pink Tartan’s Kimberley Newport-Mimran and Joe Fresh Style’s Joe Mimran.

When this year’s Toronto International Film Festival party invites started rolling, we knew we were in for one heck of an opening weekend. And on what could be the busiest two days in the city of Toronto’s history (think: TIFF, Virgin Fest and Canada’s Walk of Fame), this fashionable girl was more than happy to oblige, to the right party, of course.

It’s the end of this fashionable girls favourite season and the second bottle of Skyy Vodka this year has just landed on my desk. (TIFF is less than a week away and sponsor Skyy has come up with some tasty cocktails to commemorate the annual film fest, hence the new addition to my at-home bar. Atom’s Amarula Colada, (Click for recipes) after Canadian star director Atom Egoyan, looks delish.) One shouldn’t really look a gift horse in the mouth, but on a morning such as this, I can’t bear to look at it—just yet.

It’s still a few weeks before the Film Fest, and Toronto has been a hot spot for Canadian celeb couples. Last week, on an extremely busy Thursday night, Avril Lavigne and hubby Deryck Whibley were spotted dining at their new Toronto haunt, Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse on Brant Street.

Many are calling her Canada’s answer to Rihanna, but Kreesha Turner is much, much more than that. The Edmonton-native, turned Toronto-based songstress, just launched her hotly anticipated debut album, Passion (EMI), this past week and this fashionable girl was front and centre at her CD launch party at Revival on College Street in Toronto.

With the first half of our fashionable summer filled with patio dining and light beer, we had a little love affair with the cocktail this past weekend. Another perk of the job, I was invited to the fifth annual Drinks Show, held at the Queen Elizabeth Building at Exhibition Place. At this year’s show there were over 100 gourmet cocktails to choose from. Upon meeting the Martini Club’s Michelle Hunt, co-founder of the Drinks Show, she whisked me to the whiskey booth where we tried the Mint Divine, which had Crown Royal Special Reserve shaken with fresh mint and lemonade and sprinkled with wild blueberries. Move over Corona, there’s a new bevvie in my town.
