In 1964, L’Oréal acquired Lancôme, making a big move toward the luxury cosmetics market. This was the first of many high-end beauty names on the company’s roster, which includes YSL Beauté (2008) and licences for Ralph Lauren (1985) and Giorgio Armani (1988).
