Both Dr. Haushka and Weleda practice biodynamic farming, which goes one step beyond organic. Besides prohibiting the use of pesticides, it believes the farm is a self-sustaining organism and uses a homeopathic approach by adding medicinal elements (e.g. yarrow, valerian or dandelion) to the compost. Biodynamic farms also follow an astronomical calendar for planting and harvesting.
