My original inspiration for this design was another manicure I saw online, dubbed the “cloud mani”—it used blue and white polishes and similar curved shapes. The trick to mastering this one is to visualize the quatrefoil shape as three stripes of polish and not one huge curved blob. After letting your base colour dry, start at the outer edge of your nail and paint a line the same width (or smaller) than your brush, up your nail. (I used Revlon’s “Graceful”.) Beside this, paint a second, shorter line—and beside that, paint the third and final line. Doesn’t it look like a cloud? Once this coat dries, you’ll fill in the inside of your quatrefoil. I used the sandy-taupe colour “Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh” from OPI’s forthcoming Holland Collection and repeated the three-line painting method, making sure to leave an outline of “Graceful” showing. And voila! Quatrefoil cloud nails.
