First of all: do your skin last. One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying a smoky eye is to apply eyeshadow last, allowing dark powder to fall all over carefully set foundation. Take the makeup pro’s approach and apply the eye makeup first (as detailed on the next page), then use an oil-free makeup remover to clean up any fallen shadow. Finally, perfect your complexion with foundation and concealer.
It’s also important to balance the smoky eye with a beautifully contoured cheek. Try a neutral blush, such as M.A.C Cosmetics blush in “Buff,” and apply it just under the cheekbones with an angled blush brush.
