Before you go crazy with the silver eyeshadow, it’s important to prep your eyes first with a favourite eye primer—or even foundation dusted lightly with powder will work. This creates an oil-free base for your shadow, which will help it stay precisely where you’d like it to stay.
Then, use a small brush to apply a metallic shadow in a gentle arch, right above the crease of your eye. I used Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in “#170.” Make sure it’s not too high or on your brow bone, or too low and on the lid. What makes this look stand out is the unusual placement of a metallic in a spot usually reserved for dark, contouring shades. By using silver here, you bring a whole lot of brightness to your eyes.
Optional: choose a different precious metal shade of eyeshadow that suits you, such as rose gold or bronze.
