Gisele Bündchen is the new face of the Chanel Les Beiges makeup line

First they hired Brad Pitt, now Chanel has snagged Gisele Bündchen. (Of course, we wouldn’t expect anything less!) Today it was announced that Gisele is the new face of Chanel’s forthcoming Les Beiges makeup line, a collection that represents “natural beauty, simplicity, freedom and a healthy glow.” Les Beiges is not a colour cosmetics collection—it’s simply a new sheer powder product. But this back-to-the-basics approach is why Gisele was chosen to represent Les Beiges: “Modern, independent and positive, [Gisele] is also a nature lover who has a healthy lifestyle and enjoys the great outdoors,” said the brand via press release.
This focus on skincare is also right on trend. While we always love a new makeup colour, the beauty at many of the Spring 2013 shows was all about making a skincare statement. The minimalist looks at Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein and Balmain—to name just a few—focused on luminous complexions. Serums, primers, moisturizers and foundations all had more face time (literally) on models than colour cosmetics, meaning Chanel’s new collection is sure to be a hit. And it doesn’t hurt that Gisele Bündchen totally sells it in the Les Beiges ad campaign.
Ready to get your hands on this sheer powder? The Les Beiges line will be available in five shades and on Chanel counters everywhere as of March 18.
