Saskatoon: A classic pick for V-Day

While wandering through the mall last week, I passed by window displays of teddy bears, cards, chocolates and roses. It wasn’t until a picture of a heart-shaped diamond pendant caught my eye that I realized I had been oblivious to the obvious: Valentine’s Day. Though I am not really the romantic type, I definitely don’t have any problems with the holiday. Leave out the sappy love poems, but bring on the chocolates and flowers. And I don’t mind a nice dinner for two.
Precious metals and gems have a tendency to last longer than roses, so jewellery would be my pick. A pendant necklace (shown, Swarovski, $95), black pearl earrings or some silver bangles from Heinrichs (The Centre @ Circle and 8th, 3310 8th St.t E., 306-374-7171, heinrichsjewellery.com) are sure to make any girl’s heart skip.
