Thanks for posting this Nadine! (both parties- NSCAD + Laura Chenoweth) are making great strides for our sustainable movement here in Halifax and abroad. This is such an important issue and it makes me really happy to seeing change take place now in the classroom, as Markle puts it “As educators, we know change has to start here, start in the practice, so that it becomes second nature.” BRAVO.

I am an avid follower of your posts, and this is one of my favorites! More and more I wish I had attended NSCAD so I could be more involved in their social aware and forward thinking. Wonderful journalism, and on a topic that is close to my heart. Bravo, Nadine!

Fantastic post! Kudos to you, Nadine, for getting down to the fact that the department’s not doing it to be trendy. There’s no better place to start with this step than in school, and I’m really proud of NSCAD for taking that first leap. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with!

Bravo to the Fashion Dept. at NSCAD, the true artists in this industry are taking a long hard look at how fashion can contribute to our culture and not exploit others’. Thank you to Gary, Anne and Laura. I expect the Fashion Dept. to grow in leaps and bounds!

Halifax has always seemed to be ahead of the curve when it comes to being green, and NSCAD always seems to be ahead of curves of its own – so it’s nice to see this kind of world-saving double-trendsetting! (And hopefully, with posts like these, the fashion department at NSCAD can keep on growing!)
