Guelph: Pretty Chic extras

If you are looking for jewellery with heart, and for pieces that won’t get lost amongst the crowd of silver chandelier earrings, look no further than Pretty Chic Boutique (34 Quebec St., 519-780-2800, prettychic.ca). The boutique offers one-of-a-kind pieces from Canadian jewellery makers and artisans.
Owner Corin Comisky opened the shop two-and-a-half years ago, after giving a significant face lift to an empty storefront downtown. Comisky travels to art exhibitions and jewellery shows to find the next designs for her space.
The boutique serves not just as a retail space, but also a gallery, displaying the works of artists from across the country. Pretty Chic’s offerings, which include earrings from Catt Originals, silver rings by Tashi, Christophe Poly bracelets and necklaces by Stella, are eclectic and affordably-priced. The shop is also a family operation–Comisky’s father and business partner, Steve, uses the skills he honed as a tool and die maker to create simple, circular aluminum pendants (from $30).

I have been to Pretty Chic and it is FANTASTIC. Its so refreshing to see buy jewellery that will not be on every other neck or ears that walks by. Not only are the pieces original but the store it self is gorgeous and Corin is a gem. Guelph is “pretty” lucky to have this.
I think this store is wonderful! We need to support canadian jewellery makers and artisans. Not only is the store very “chic”, the hospitality of the store owner is very warming.
I’ve seen some of the jewelery on the girls in a wedding party, and it was just stunning.
I definately recommend this store.

I love jewelery thats unique and its GREAT to know that Pretty Chic is feauturing gems jewels, also I respect the fact that they display works of artists from across the nation- helps expose hidden talents out there. Thumbs up.

I just love Pretty Chic Boutique! Everytime I’m in Guelph I have to stop in there. These unique jewellery items are the perfect gifts for mothers and friends. Although, I usually keep one piece for myself too. If you haven’t been yet, its a must see.
