Video: Marc Jacobs Spring 2010
Ever the apex of New York Fashion Week, the Marc Jacobs show hit the catwalk last night in a cloud of pastels and kabuki makeup. If Jacobs’ fall collection was hard, spring is almost defiantly soft, a reaction, he told Style.com, against all the studs and black leather of late. Volume in the form of exuberant ruffles, full prairie skirts and harem pants burst out from under surprisingly simple jackets and filmy pants and underwear-as-outerwear were like a second stab at his Spring 2008 collection. It was geisha/harlequin/Comme des Garçons with fanny packs, and if it all seems a little much, the last dress, at least is simply gorgeous. [YouTube]
