Denis Gagnon does DIY Aldo
Denis Gagnon presented his Spring 2010 collection yesterday at Montreal Fashion Week (more to come on that soon). The starting point for the line was zippers, a theme blown out on the custom-designed Aldo footwear that Gagnon created with stylist YSO. (Gallery after the jump.)
The pair kitted out the brand’s Mickolick and Racette booties with zips and studs to create sculptural, tough designs. Sadly, you can’t buy these versions at the store, but Aldo has launched a design contest with the same DIY spirit (aldo-diy.com). Take any stock Aldo shoe, boot or bag and mod it up. The winner of the contest will have the opportunity to design a piece for the company’s Fall 2010 line. Deadline for entries is October 30, so get glue-gunning!
