Morrissey and Stella McCartney design vegan footwear

Famed egomaniac and ex-Smith’s frontman Morrissey is collaborating with Stella McCartney on a shoe collection. The drama king is as equally animal-friendly (but far more outspoken) as McCartney—so it only seems appropriate that the two Brits would bond over the need for a leather-free shoe line. Morrissey has expressed distaste for leather in the past but struggled over giving it up entirely: “I find shoes difficult to be ethical about – one just can’t seem to avoid leather. One is trapped, ultimately.” It would seem that necessity is, as always, the mother of invention. With the collection in the early morning stages of development, vegan shoe fiends should expect the collaboration to hit stores sometime next year. [Grazia Daily]
