Nostalgia alert: Club Monaco brings back the crest sweatshirt

Back in the day, logo sweatshirts ruled. Beaver Canoe, Coconut Joe, et al. were de rigueur at my London, Ontario elementary school and the brand you wore determined your social status. By the time I hit high school, top spot in the caf had gone to Club Monaco and their crest-emblazoned sweatshirt. Gone from store shelves for over a decade, this classic piece of collegiate wear has returned a Club near you. (If near you means Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Robson Street or Pacific Centre in Vancouver or Eaton Metrotown in Burnaby.) If nostalgia can be bought, then $79 for the crew neck sweatshirt–the tee goes for $29, the hoodie is $89–is as safe a bet as any to relive your youth.

  • I should have saved my Beaver Canoe sweatshirt but I cut the neck out of it when I needed an oversized sweatshirt for my “Flashdance Look” Halloween costume a few years ago. What I won’t do for a laugh . . .

WHOA! I used to wear the white crewneck one for two years straight with my kilt and knee-highs in the tenth grade! Love it. It’s true, this was the high-school version of the popular ones in elementary school, which, in my case, were the Northern Getaway or Enuf ones, paired with tartan leggings.

Words could not describe how much I love the sweatshirt! An absolute must for those chill summer nights paired with a nice set of cut off’s..and boom 90′s here we come

I love these shirts. In fact I was so nostalgic today and I searched this up and found your blog. I can’t believe they’re back!

Is possible to be back color?.. Actually I like the back..
