Fashion news: McQueen’s last dress, Hilary Duff marries in Vera Wang and Madonna’s Macy’s line has some ‘splainin’ to do
Though it wasn’t part of Alexander McQueen‘s final collection in Paris last spring, feast your eyes on what may have been the last piece that the late designer touched. The silk swan dress, made for long-time pal Annabelle Neilson is a far cry from the more notorious McQueen pieces she’s worn in the past (a sheer jumpsuit, anyone?). She wore this beauty to Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball in June. [T Magazine]
Hilary Duff tied the knot this weekend with Edmonton Oiler Mike Comrie. Duff wore a Vera Wang dress of which there is only blurry cell phone pic. [Catwalk Queen]
All the gossip-stirring fashion bigwigs are off sailing the Mediterranean on their yachts, so the best we can do for your dose of Lagerfeld love is the following slide show of the Kaiser on vacation in St. Tropez with his muse Baptiste Giabiconi. We wonder how those shorts will inspire Karl…. [Socialite Life]
We love following Fashionista‘s Adventures in Copyright. The latest installment features a shirt from Madonna‘s recently launched Material Girl line that “blatantly rips off” (it’s bascially the same shirt) one from Ronny Kobo’s line for Torn. Perhaps the original material girl should look into using original material. Zing! [Fashionista]
WWD asked a few fashion flashbulb magnets about their cheap tricks. Says NY socialite Jamee Gregory, “I listen to Travie McCoy’s ‘Billionaire’ rap song! I heard it first on the car radio in L.A. Now I’ve downloaded it to play. It’s hysterical. It’s the best cheap thrill — better than mascara.” Yes, but what will it do for our eyelashes? [WWD]
In an interview with Health Magazine, model Molly Sims contemplates the act of 10 plastic surgeries in one day: “I think Heidi Montag is a really sick girl, something is off. You don’t get F-size boobs. And I’m not judging her. I feel sorry for her.” That’s one way of putting it. [Huffington Post]
According to this article, the sexed-up come-hither snarl is all the rage in music videos. We’ve seen it by the likes of Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Ciara, though it’s hard to say if it’s female pop stars shocking us with their best in-bed facial expressions or if its just the vampire trend affecting pop culture more than we’d like it to.
