New York: Thakoon plays with texture

THAKOON Fall 2010. Photography by Peter Stigter
Is it still cool to be fashionably late? According to Thakoon, whose show was 40 minutes past its start time, the answer is yes. And judging by the well-edited collection of rumpled velvet jackets, draped chiffon blouses, dresses with pompom trim and Mongolian fur shrugs, it was well worth the wait. Model Karlie Kloss won best look award wearing a cinched purple-grey double-breasted jacket with fox fur sleeves and a pair of wool and silk shorts. Add slightly tousled hair (by Eugene Souleiman) and a fresh face with full brows (courtesy of NARS) and you’ve got a ready-to-wear recipe for success.
