New York: Isaac Mizrahi’s Central Park Story
Forget West Side Story. According to Isaac Mizrahi’s Fall 2010 collection it’s all about the Central Park Story. This magical tale (think Avedon meets Avatar) comes to life on the runway with model’s clad in cashmere fleece dresses, colourful Muppets-style fur coats, strapless wool dresses with toggle accents, sequin bombers, brocade skirts and fluffy chiffon gowns with twinkling embellishment. Very winter fairy. Mizrahi nails the city-meets-country blend of textures and silhouettes, and as far as his choice of colour palette goes, we can’t wait to take a stroll through the leafy greens, pinkberries, tangerines, mustards and icy silvers on the racks come fall.
