Dispatches from Milan: Waiting for Etro, the shoe showroom scramble and swaggering coats at MaxMara
Waiting at Etro, lulled by the comfy Etro print seat cushions, classical music and the fact that I slept only one hour last night. (That evil 2nd night jet lag gets me every time.) It’s shoe showroom day in Milan, which means I’m gonna fly by the seat of my leather leggings to as many showrooms as possible, squeezed in between a gazillion shows.
Today’s beyond intense schedule means I’m really going to have to pick and choose. There’s no way I can get to everything I’d like to. So far have dashed to Jimmy Choo, Furla and Car Shoe with Giuseppe Zanotti, Serg0i Rossi, Tods, and Bally still to go. If this isn’t a day for flats, nothing is!
Loved the swaggering greatcoats and military moments at MaxMara this morning–Zoe Saldana was perched front row.
Still somehow need to get to Giorgio Armani, Moschino, Gucci, Pucci and assorted other shows. Not helping that Etro run an hour late! (The crowd was seething!) Once it finally started, it wouldn’t end. The mix was classic tailored sportwear with feminine Eastern-inspired silk prints.
Off to Armani where I hear Clive Owen will show up!
