NYFW diary: The new must-haves

The LSD at Jenni Kayne. Photography by Fernanda Calfat/Stringer
Call it an occupational hazard, but I am ready to start shopping for fall. Spring, schming! For those of you equally obsessed fashion folks out there (yes, I’m talking to YOU), here’s your first look at what you will be drooling over in about six months:
1. Power pigments: Bright orange at Max Azria, metallic gold at DVF, colour blocking at Jill Stuart, red and hot pink at DKNY
2. Wrap belts at Victoria Beckham
3. Hybrid outerwear: Puffer coats and parkas were slick at Alexander Wang, Rococo-inspired at Thakoon, ’90s grunge at Altuzarra and day-meets-night at Richard Chai Love
4. The minimalist suit at Jeremy Laing
5. Hidden platform ankle booties at DKNY
6. A white fur coat at Derek Lam
7. Fisherman knits c/o Adam
8. The new eveningwear: pair a black turtleneck with a high-waisted silk ball skirt à la Christian Siriano
9. The LSD (little shift dress) was perfected with Jenni Kayne’s bold, saturated colour
10. A slouchy double breasted suit at Tommy Hilfiger
11. Embellishment: romantic lace and glittering crystals at Jason Wu
