1. There are some serious fashion peeps finding themselves in the second row: Lynn Yaeger, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Kate Lanphear, Derek Blasberg. Okay, maybe they’re not all that serious, but they’re all used to A1 treatment. Wonder how they feel about their industry fame being subjugated to Hollywood fame at a fashion show?

2. Meanwhile, in the front row, too many pretty faces ⎯most of them belonging to boys. I think one of them is about to be Mr. Kate Moss… yes, a quick Twitter search reveals ’tis indeed Jamie Hince.

3. Speaking of Kates, Bosworth and Rachel Bilson appear to be outshrinking each other.

4. There is a pixie-headed model type snapping pictures on a disposable. She looks like Carey Mulligan. I like Carey Mulligan, and I like disposables. We should be friends.

5. Okay, showtime. Are those… Dalmatian-spotted fur tams? Because Topshop did that yesterday, and Topshop is never supposed to do Burberry before Burberry does Burberry, if you know what I mean. I bet when the Burberry office saw the Topshop show yesterday, some poor junior designer’s Dalmatian-hatted head went rolling.

6. These colours⎯particularly the creamsicle orange, leaf green, and summer-sky cerulean⎯are new for Burberry. We’ve seen very fall colours elsewhere (all those rusty reds!), so it’s interesting that Bailey is doing something so different, both for him and for the season.

7. The colours and the garments they belong to⎯like felted wool coats in curvilinear ‘60s shapes, or silk dresses with drop-waisted flounces, and then the thick string ribbons⎯remind me very much of Miu Miu Fall ’10. Not a bad thing. Just a… thing.

8. These plaids are good for people who don’t know about vintage shopping yet…

9. Nice fur-knit combinations, especially with those super-flattering, slightly flared tweedy pants. It would be even nicer if there were more knits; it’s like ninety per cent coats and nothing to put underneath.

10. Who sings this song? Why is it so sad? Oh my god, it’s Adele. I am going to cry at a fashion show. Everything is so stately and beautiful, and Adele is so, so sad. And now it’s snowing. Inside. It’s snowing and I’m crying at Burberry. And today is not nearly over.
