Holt Renfrew opens World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto with 67 lust-worthy designer outfits already in-store

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to see a entire fashion season’s most important moments capsulized, last night’s Holt Renfrew opening showcase at World Mastercard Fashion Week last night was your dream come true. Set to a soundtrack by real-life DJ couple Brendan Fallis and Hannah Bronfman (who both donned Holt Renfrew’s “Girls” sweater designed in collaboration with Justin Broadbent), models including Amanda Laine walked in 67 looks of Fall 2012’s best internationally and Canadian-made wears.
Womens stand out styles included a printed Prada suit (similar to the one featured on FASHION’s September cover), a colour block coat from Céline and the all-white Tom Ford cape dress originally debuted by Gyneth Paltrow at the Oscars last February. The show’s audience was equally designer-decked. Spotted in the crowd was a mix of pieces from Céline, Carven, Alexander Wang, Dries Van Noten and Lanvin among many others.
This show follows a more intimate all Canadian spring showcase this past Friday that included select designs from Dennis Merotto, Greta Constantine, Jeremy Laing, Lida Baday, Pink Tartan, Smythe Les Vestes and Trout, a new rainwear label. Although the show at World MasterCard Fashion Week may not be relevant for the Spring/Summer showcase, guests were certainly left lusting for a shopping trip to Holt Renfrew.
