july2009lovely_smLovely in…A blast from the past

Spotted: In our inbox for the FASHION Lovelies/Holt Renfrew contest.

Wearing: A vintage dress and purse with an H&M belt and Aldo shoes. (The earrings were a gift from her grandmother.)

Why: By pairing her vintage polka dot throwback frock with modern, hard-edged accessories, this Lovely shows us she knows how to mix the old and new like a fashion pro.

Check out the full look after the jump.

This is an amazing outfit and totally stands out from all the other entries. Great styling and poise!

The whole thing looks ill-fitting. Perhaps its the photo, but it all looks disproportionate.

solo por la chica de los red lips!!!!!! suerte wapisima!!!

  • JMoesha says:

The dress itself is cute but the shoes and belt don’t work at all. The hair would benefit from a less Rachel from “Friends” look. And the red handbag was a mistake.

  • Elle says:

Love the colour pop, but agree that it might be a bit better with a different bag. I’m digging the 40s influence… and the shoes definitely modernize it.

  • Anna says:

I love the shoes. Red/black all-over combo is too matchy-matchy.

  • Crissy says:

Love the shoes, love the belt … HATE the dress and bag. I would cry if I had to wear this.

    Brutal.

I agree…it would be better if she wear a skinny black belt to accentuate her waist and an open toe heel to complete the look. The red vintage purse totally killed it. The hair is totally out of sync. Think about Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when looking for style inspiration for this outfit.
