See Isaac…make biscotti?

By Jennifer Campbell
Is there anyone out there who doesn’t harbour a big crush on Isaac Mizrahi? Seriously, raise your hand. Well, it can’t be just me, because the designer’s web site (isaacmizrahiny.com), revamped earlier this year, seems tailor made for the Mizrahi enthusiast.
The team at the designer’s 475 Tenth Avenue base camp has adopted the web site as a pet project so you get an inside view of life in a fashion studio. They’ve got a style bibliography, a trend column, a behind-the-scenes studio blog and a daily “Yesterday @ 475” video, where you can discover what happened at the IM offices (answer: they talked about the Olympics).
Of course, you’re there for the fashion. Sure you can view the collections and check out sketches of Mizrahi’s costume design projects, but the real draw is “Watch Isaac,”his web talk show. As in: Watch Isaac talk about gloves! Watch Isaac clean mushrooms! On top of this, he hosts style roundtables, delivers fashion monologues perched atop a stool and answers viewer questions via sketch. You’re going to waste hours.
