Rock ‘n’ Rowe
In contrast to her stark white collection from spring ’08, Ashley Rowe has taken a dramatic departure for fall with a collection simply titled “black.” With an invite from the former FASHION intern to the Miss Rowe trunk show taking place October 4th at Exhibition Place (285 Manitoba Dr) and all the buzz surrounding her label, I was eager to check out what she would have in store.
Her fall collection is a streamlined selection of sharp separates that can be easily worn day-to-night. Think smart trousers, both slouchy and wide-legged, sleeveless vests with large lapels and wooly bombers. I can already see Mary-Kate Olsen rocking the oversized leather tunic with Louboutins and a Balenciaga bag.
Stunning new wool and feather accessories will be on site and if, like me you’re sensing a pattern here, head to the trunk show for a sneak-peak of the spring ’09 collection (will it be white?). Go to missrowe.com for more details and to print out your invite, which nets you 25 per cent off. So stock up on fall’s investment pieces because Miss Rowe is right on point.
