In search of the perfect flats

After a season of party hopping in sky-high stilettos and sleek-heeled ankle booties, I am ready to take a sole-searching journey for comfortable (read: flat) shoes. Oh, and did I mention that I am also craving a sunny hit of colour and a slick patent finish? Where, oh where, would I ever find such a pair?
Just when I thought I would be held hostage in my backbreaking, yet breathtaking, heels forever (or one fashion season as the case may be), I was introduced to Bloch ballet flats (style shown, $173, 800-335-7268). This Australian dance footwear company has been a favourite among the plié set since 1932. And now for the first time, those with two left feet and a keen fashion sense can play twinkle toes in their new streetwear-inspired line. Why wait until spring to trip the light fantastic? There’s nothing I love more than slipping out my slushy, salt-stained boots into a bright, juicy pair of flats.
Pair them with a fitted turtleneck and a pair of stovepipe trousers. Oh, how very Audrey…
