Tough love from Hilliard Designs

I’ve always thought it looks über cute when little chihuahuas in Yaletown prance along wearing spiked collars, and hey, if an itty-bitty dog can look stylish wearing something once intended for Mohawk-sporting punksters, why can’t I?
For spring, Vancouver’s Shelley Hilliard has created a series of spike bracelets for her eponymous label that I can’t resist picking up. Made of sterling silver ($321) or Italian brass with silver spikes ($178, both at hilliarddesign.com), the newest addition to the Geometric collection is a bit edgier than her always pretty, slightly dainty designs. I picture one peeking out from the rolled-up cuffs of a boyfriend blazer, adding some sass to a jewel-toned cocktail dress, or, if the wallet permits, a stack of them with flat sandals, a Kain tank and Current/Elliott jean shorts.
