Stocking up at the Bay’s Olympics superstore

I’ve been on the Olympics bandwagon since we landed the bid in 2003, but now that I’ve been seeing the official team apparel all over Vancouver, I decided it was about time I headed to the Olympics superstore at the Bay downtown (674 Granville St., 604-681-6211, hbc.com) to pick up my own pieces. After my initial shock at the madness (So! Many! People! Shopping! Everywhere!), I found the signature mittens ($10)—the maple leaf on each palm is so freaking cute—and picked up the hand-knit sweater that I first laid eyes on back when we featured it in our November issue. Here are highlights from the collection—and don’t forget that they ONLY accept Visa or cash (not even my good ol’ bank card!).
