Daily steal
The daily steal: Chambray shirt, $20

Photography by Carlo Mendoza
I haven’t worn a chambray top since the ’90s, when it was called a “jean shirt” and I borrowed it from my mom. But the light, denim-like fabric is fresh again, making an appearance on Chloé’s and D&G’s spring runways. Lucky then, that I snapped up this beauty at the Toronto Eaton Centre location of the Gap for a mere $20 (check your local store for availability, gapcanada.ca). The cut is just right and the epaulets and pocket detail give the shirt a military twist that keeps it from taking a turn for the cowgirl.
