Quotable: Anna Dello Russo compares herself to the Queen and plans a music career

Comments

Remember when Anna Dello Russo did a backwards yoga pose in her insane video for “Fashion Shower?” Well, looks like we’ll be seeing lots more of it! At a recent panel at London’s V&A Museum, the editrix/style star reveals that a career in music is next on her horizon:

“I want to finish in fashion, become a singer and release a record”

To boot, she praises photographer Tommy Ton (maybe a little too highly?) for influencing her to become “an ambassador for street style.”

“I went to see the exhibition of Cecil Beaton’s portraits of The Queen, and I thought; ‘That’s just like me and Tommy!”

Quotable: Which legendary designer thinks Brits lack a sense of style?

Comments

Vivienne Westwood is no stranger to speaking her mind. This time, she voices her opinion on UK style at the runway presentation of her Red Label diffusion collection, saying, “people have never looked so ugly” along with these other gems:

“In history, people dressed much better than we do today. If you saw Queen Elizabeth it would be amazing, she came from another planet…We are so conformist, nobody is thinking. I’m a fashion designer and people think ‘what do I know?’ but I’m talking about all this disposable crap. So I’m saying buy less, choose well, make it last.”

Project Runway All Stars recap: The designers head to Broadway, Isaac and Austin have a catwalk catfight, and Kara gets the boot

Comments

In a surprise that really wasn’t a surprise, this week’s episode of All Stars saw the gang contending with the best, most All Star-ish challenge yet. I can’t lie, this challenge got my heart a-racing and my feet a-tapping, because I, like Austin, love Broadway: the marquees, the plush seats, the promise of grins that won’t quit.

By Randi Bergman and Paige Dzenis

We almost jumped off a ledge when we thought that last week’s two-hour marathon finale would be the last that we’d see of the Abbeyers for quite some time, but alas, there was still a Christmas miracle in store! In February, no less. Last night’s holiday special taught us that it’s still okay to wish on stars, and eyelashes… and Santa—because our wish came true. Matthew and Mary finally got together! In the snow, no less! And now, for the rest of the seemingly inconsequential details:
