Roberto vs. Karl, Nelly and a Spice Girl

CELEB SPY: Star spottings around town.
Trick or treat: Canadian songbird Nelly Furtado was very generous this Halloween. Before jetting off to Munich for the MTV Europe Music Awards, the “Promiscuous” singer, with her bags packed and waiting by her front door, was handing out two big chocolate bars to each goblin and princess who happened to stop by her mid-town Toronto home. The next night in Germany she took home Album of the Year! Congrats, Nelly.
Things that make you go hmmm… : Though still in training for her stint on Dancing with the Stars and getting ready for the Spice Girls reunion tour (which kicks off in Vancouver this December), Mel B. was spotted in Toronto this week with her new hubby. Maybe Scary Spice needed a mini vacation.
Attention celeb spies: Keep your eyes peeled for some may-jah rock star power in Toronto next week. On November 8th and 9th the Police are playing the ACC. And guess who’s opening for them? Sting’s handsome son Joe Sumner, lead singer of Fiction Plane, will take the stage before his famous dad.
FASHION NOTES: News from the world of style.
Dad boys: Aging pop rockers Duran Duran keep breaking the mould more than 20 years into the music game. Not only is their latest video being banned in Britain (models in rehab—brilliant!), but the boys are teaming up with Juicy Couture to outfit their entire upcoming tour.
Double take: Italian designer, and recent H&M collaborator, Roberto Cavalli wowed the fashion crowd on Halloween, dressing up as couture rival Karl Lagerfeld for his costume party, held at Cipriani 42 in New York City.Cavalli’s costume came complete with fingerless leather gloves and a pony-tailed long, silver mane.
Shown: The real Karl, at the Chanel couture show.
