White hot

After I was introduced to artist Todd White’s work by a friend in public relations, this fashionable girl decided to venture in a slightly different direction and use my blog to introduce you online fashionistas to this insanely talented contemporary artist. (I would’ve made my first real art purchase while interviewing White at the Liss Gallery had my credit card not been over limit!)
For someone who’s being hailed as the next Picasso or Warhol, this handsome 30-something is taking it all in stride. “I still think I’m up-and-coming,” he says. We’re chatting in Brian Liss’s Yorkville office, just behind his recently renovated gallery space, which has been covered with White’s incredible and sometimes humorous paintings for opening night. White, who was in town for the showing, which runs until June 21, already has some inspiration for new work after a night out at a downtown club, where he and his manager bumped into a Scottish rugby team.
I sat down with White, who had already sold over 50 works from the Liss showing, to talk about everything from early art classes to working with Warner Bros. and, of course, fashion. Click here to read the interview and check out some of Todd White’s work.
