Star Turner

Many are calling her Canada’s answer to Rihanna, but Kreesha Turner is much, much more than that. The Edmonton-native, turned Toronto-based songstress, just launched her hotly anticipated debut album, Passion (EMI), this past week and this fashionable girl was front and centre at her CD launch party at Revival on College Street in Toronto.
Infusing jazz, pop and dance, the baby-voiced Turner turned out a strong six-song set for music industry peeps (including Fefe Dobson, members of Let’s Go to War and producer Jon Levine, who co-produced Passion and joined Turner on stage) the evening before her album went on sale. Our fave, if we absolutely had to name one, was “Don’t Call Me Baby,” the newly anointed gold single, which was presented to Turner, capping off an extraordinary night.
